M’accordant sur ma guitarre
Je chante les refrains de l’Ouest Canadien
Le long de mon parcours
En passant par Gravelbourg
J’aperçois une jolie femme aux yeux doux
Et j’ai dû m’approcher d’elle
Je lui dis chère demoiselle
Donnez-moi s’il vous plaît votre main
Et nous suivrons ces beaux chemins

Elle me dit chère cow-boy
Je voudrais être une cow-girl
Pour vous suivre à cheval dans les chemins
Mais je viens d’une grande ville
J’suis de passage dans ma famille
Et j’aime entendre chanter vos refrains
J’écoute les chansons des plaines
Ce sont ceux-là que mon cœur aime
Et j’entends de très loin vos mélodies
Chantez pour chasser mes ennuies

Passing through Gravelbourg
I notice a pretty woman with friendly eyes
I went close to her

We’ ll follow pretty paths.

To follow you on horseback
But I come from a big city
I am passing through with my family
I like to hear sing your songs
I listen to the songs of the plains
They are the ones my heart loves
I hear their melody from far away
Sing to chase away my troubles.

My town is Gravelbourg
That’s where I found love

She follows me in the great plains
All day long we ride
Both singing the melodies
Since we are great friends..
