The 50th Wedding Anniversary was celebrated in spite of Luther's rapidly failing health. Though tired by day's end, he enjoyed the comradery and talk with the large number of celebrants who came through his sickroom. Luther had worked as a meat cutter for years, and was crippled by arthritis as soon as he retired; Maxine sells Avon cosmetics. Luther is deceased.
