Etta was caring for Karl at home. He was in his nineties and almost completely blind. After Etta died quite suddenly from a heart attack, I believe, Karl went to a nursing home in Manchester coming back to Pawlet occasionally. I don't know if Karl is still alive?
PHOTOGRAPH - I delivered this picture to them on Etta's birthday not very long before she died. A relative from Danby, who ordered several copies of the picture, told me that Etta liked the photograph very much.
