INTERVIEW EXCERPT

Ron is the herdsman at the Leach farm. He has an interesting history as revealed in his interview.

Ron:

"There is something about the land that maybe I would want to mention. One of my favorite authors is James Michener, and there was a point made in Centennial about how all things generate from the land - and that there's a constant battle. There are two kinds of people, caretakers of the land and then there are takers. The future for everybody will be whether or not the caretakers win over the takers. That always stuck in my mind that that's important. I hope I am a caretaker. As a herdsman, I don't do much tilling and that sort of actually, you know, being in the soil but I certainly feel respect for it. I think with all the technology, or all the emphasis on the technology, that sometimes man is forgetting that he is just as biological as everything that's grown out there."
